Location determines one’s access to the American Dream and overall quality of life. Through our copyrighted analysis, Harriet performs the hyperlocal analytics, identifies projects, and generates the sector of partners to institutionalize resilience and sustainability of communities as well as individual success pathways. Harriet supports partners in their efforts and expedites the process towards materializing social impact.

How Harriet Works

How Harriet Works

Two priorities and Three Users

Harriet functions to stabilize communities and people. We achieve these aims via the subscription of three user groups: individuals, community based organizations, and institutions.

Individuals (Priority One)

Individuals arrive at Harriet with a “success pathway” in mind. We administer a holistic assessment (e.g., ACEs score, household finance, educational needs, abilities, etc.). The results are used to build a hyper-individualized “roadmap” and identify the dimensions of support requiring sponsorship in order to surmount the economic, social, and cultural challenges they will encounter in pursuit of their dreams.
We elucidate the fabric of the facets of their challenges and match them to the much-needed resources (e.g., mentoring, childcare, mental health) necessary to ensure the elimination of barriers on the path to success.

As a result, Harriet facilitates the philanthropic sector and others to identify mission-aligned gifting (e.g. women in STEM) opportunities, which are posited to eliminate such barriers. This opportunity exists for individual-level or community-level projects (e.g. community health).

Communities (Priority Two)

Place matters. Employment rates, earnings, civic engagement, and even life expectancy are heavily influenced by location. Thus, the necessary interventions, partners, and approaches to remedying spatial inequities require hyper-local informed solutions.

Communities are critical ecosystems whereby residents are essentially afforded or denied critical resources to build their ability to gainfully participate in the labor force.

Community-based organizations (CBO) are typically non-profit entities that operate within a specific community or geographical area, aiming to address local needs and improve the well-being of its residents–often filling the gap in governmental services for residents. Harriet scans the given locale, applies our formula, and recommends projects for greater livability and economic vitality.

CBOs are able to make informed decisions about the components of their programs (e.g. trauma-informed practice), be matched with funding opportunities, partner with a CBO seeking mutual aims, or receive funding from a mission-aligned philanthropist with one click. Institutions (e.g. Real estate development investors) are provided a seamless workspace to collaborate on projects, identify design features (e.g., # of bedrooms, rental rates, etc.), and be matched with partners with shared interests (e.g., impact investors, government gap funding, etc.).

Marginalized populations will disproportionately bear the burden of global disruptors (e.g., climate change and automation), exacerbating inequalities, compounding the barriers to a decent standard of living, and worsening community health. The population will encounter barriers that ultimately prevent them from fully participating in both the economy and democracy. Not only is this profoundly unjust, but it is also dangerous for the stabilization of democracy and economies.
